IEEE – Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN) is the student honor society of IEEE and is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the IEEE-designated fields of interest.

At NUS, the chapter is named Lambda Omega. The role is to provide special opportunities for close Faculty/Student interactions and relationships, and provide opportunities for students to work together with other students and within their own governance structure that will help build needed skills for life that are not necessarily taught in a formal class environment.

Ieee Nus

Located in Region 10; one of the largest regions of IEEE comprising of over 400 student branches, the National University of Singapore (NUS) IEEE student branch is one of the most active student branches of IEEE for the past 26 years.

Known for the active volunteering services, NUS IEEE has held many events including workshops for Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver and Photoshop, talks with electrical and computer engineers from the engineering department regarding technopreneurship, revision series for students in engineering, industrial visits, soldering sales, competitions, and many more.

NUS IEEE does not restrict their activities and events to Singapore, but rather extends them to Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand as well. Increasing the interaction with outside students and countries, NUS IEEE was the first to take the initiative to propose and organise the first Asia Pacific Student Congress in 2002. With the success of the first congress, the congress has received the seal of approval to be a biennial event.

This prestigious student branch once again holds the reins as chief organiser for the congress as it returns to NUS this year.

NUS.AI (RC4AI) is established to allow students in NUS to learn about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its industry relevance. We currently operate as a cognito pod in RC4, under the title RC4AI.

The purpose of the club is to:

  • Generate interest in the field of AI among members of the club and the wider NUS student populace
  • Hone competencies in AI and spread awareness of industry implementation among members of the club
  • Render assistance to members of the club pertaining to the study and practice of AI
  • Engage in meaningful partnership with AISG to explore and charter apprenticeship or career opportunities for members of the club

Enginclub

Established in 1976, the NUS Students’ Engineering Club is the official faculty club and sole union representative of all undergraduates in the Faculty of Engineering. Engin Club, as it is popularly known, is highly regarded for its vital role in the academic and social lives of about 6,000 full-time Engineering undergraduates, working closely with the faculty administration to provide the best for our fellow students. Each academic year, a new Management Committee is elected to facilitate the various activities that seek to enhance the students’ experiences beyond academic pursuits. Besides being the voice of the student body, Engin Club strives to connect to all Engineering undergraduates through our vibrant initiatives and collaboration with the other engineering subsidiary clubs. Major events organized by the Club include the annual Engin Day, Exam Welfare Pack Giveaways, and the Freshmen Orientation Projects.

Computingclub

The NUS Students’ Computing Club represents undergraduates in NUS School of Computing. Our mission is to provide support for our undergraduates during their stay in NUS School of Computing. This is achieved by taking strides in efforts to enhance their welfare, provide leadership opportunities and provide liaising opportunities between the IT industry and them.

Many key activities are carried out throughout the year. The Freshmen Orientation Project is the most important project undertaken by each Management Committee. Its purpose is to welcome and initiate freshmen into our School.

The Club has also been very pro-active in going beyond its boundaries. We continue to successfully organize flagship events such as Cyber-Gaming Festival, a national electronic gaming competition, and PoolFest, a recreational activity for all NUS Students.

The Club continues to strive for excellence every single year. With the support of the School of Computing, the undergraduate population, to whom we serve and close links with the industry, we are confident of carrying out our mission.
