Dr. Mike Zheng Shou, Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NUS is amongst 30 honorees under the age of 30 across Asia to appear on the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia List under the category of Healthcare and Science.
Dr. Mike Shou is recognized for establishing Show Lab, a NUS research group focusing on video AI. His AI models have made a profound real-world impact, being used by social network tech giants like Facebook/Meta, Google, Tencent. His research can also power many applications such as the perception system for self-driving cars, caring-robots for the elderly, smart city CCTV cameras, and the future Metaverse platforms, etc. Dr. Mike Shou also received the prestigious Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellowship in 2021. On being a honoree of the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia (Healthcare and Science), Dr. Mike Shou said, “I am very honored and humbled to be on this Forbes list, which is a recognition of our fundamental AI research and its real-world impact. Mr. Lee Kai Yi, an alumnus of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Class of Electrical Engineering 2018), NUS is honoured under the category of Enterprise Technology. Mr. Lee Kai Yi is recognized for establishing StaffAny, a workforce management solution for companies hiring workers by the hour, with three other cofounders. They help small and midsized firms optimize scheduling, consolidate timesheets and boost labor productivity. It has raised $4.2 million to date from investors such as East Ventures, Far East Ventures and GGV Capital.
