Best Paper Award – IEEE MTT-S International Wireless Symposium 2019

NUS ECE Ph.D. student Cong Wang (Supervisor: Professor Guo Yongxin) won the FLASH Competition best paper award in the 2019 IEEE MTT-S International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2019) held on May 19-22, 2019 in Guangzhou, China.

The winning entry is entitled “Realization of a Reconfigurable Leaky-Wave Antenna with Fixed-Frequency Beam Scanning Capability Using Liquid Metal”.

The IWS is one of the most important international forums for presenting and exchanging the latest technical achievements in components, circuits and systems related to existing and emerging wireless technologies. IWS2019 had received 420 papers from 27 countries/regions including Asia Pacific, America, Europe and Africa, and thus became the largest IWS so far.  FLASH is a newly created competition for IWS2019, in which graduate students and young professionals have 3 minutes (or less) to present their research topic and its potential impact. There were 10 papers being short-listed for the FLASH competition, and 3 of them were awarded as the Best Paper Award.
