ECE Department receives donation of two intelligent robots from Bozhon

ECE Department received two intelligent mobile robotic platforms from Bozhon Precision Industry Technology Co., Ltd. Bozhon is an industry leader that provides solutions and services to smart factory, robotics and automation, headquartered in Suzhou, China and with offices across the globe.

The intelligent mobile robotic platform is a commercial grade robotic system that has been deployed for autonomous delivery services at hotels, restaurants, and factory floors. It is equipped with high-precision autonomous navigation and positioning system to move freely through narrow spaces. Bozhon Chairman Lv Shaolin, and ECE Department Head Prof John Thong witnessed the handover of the robots at NUS.

The donation of the robots will strengthen the research collaborations between Bozhon Research and ECE Department in the areas of human language technology, artificial intelligence, and advanced robotics. Bozhon (Suzhou) and ECE Department are also exploring joint student internship and research programmes through NUSRI Suzhou.

First demonstration of a secure quantum network with untrusted quantum devices

An international team comprising researchers from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and LMU Munich (LMU) have, for the first time, successfully demonstrated a new form of quantum key distribution (QKD) that is secure even if the users are not privy to the underlying quantum hardware.
