Elected to the IEEE Information Theory Society Board of Governors – Associate Professor Vincent Tan

NUS ECE Associate Professor, Dr. Vincent Y. F. Tan has been elected to the IEEE Information Theory Society Board of Governors for 2021 – 2023 recently.

The IEEE Information Theory Society (or ITSoc) is a professional society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) focused on several aspects of information: its processing, transmission, storage, and usage; and the “foundations of the communication process”. The Board of Governors and its Officers lead the ITSoc and oversee the activities of various Committees such as the Conference Committee, various Awards Committees and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Dr. Vincent Y. F. Tan is currently an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and an Associate Editor in the area of Machine Learning for the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory.  He has been a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Information Theory Society (2018/19). His research interests include network information theory, machine learning, and statistical signal processing.
