Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia (Healthcare and Science)

Dr. John Ho, an Assistant Professor and National Research Foundation Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NUS is amongst 30 honorees under the age of 30 from 24 countries across Asia Pacific to appear on the 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia List under the category of Healthcare and Science.

Tinybioelectronic

Dr. Ho is honoured for his research on wireless powering for bioelectronic systems. The techniques he developed allow devices much smaller and deeper in the body than previously possible to be powered. He has used this technology to demonstrate wireless devices the size of a grain of rice for wireless cardiac pacing and also for optogenetics in freely moving animals. These capabilities may enable new ways for bioelectronic devices to study and to treat human diseases.

Dr. Ho has his Master’s and PhD from Stanford University where he was a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellow.
