Congratulations to NUS ECE Ph.D. student Mr. Jaydeep Saha who won the Best Paper Award at the IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition – Asia, IEEE ECCE-Asia 2021 held on 24 – 27 May 2021 in Singapore (Virtual Conference).
Jaydeep won the award for his excellent research contribution in the paper titled “Modulation of Direct Matrix-Based Dual-Active-Bridge (MB-DAB) AC-DC Converters” which presents a comprehensive analysis of the modulation boundaries of the emerging single-stage Direct Matrix-Based Dual-Active-Bridge (MB-DAB) AC-DC converters with extensive formulations, simulation and experimental results, which reveals the comparative modulation capabilities of the state-of-the-art MB-DAB AC-DC converters.
Jaydeep is studying for his Ph.D. Degree under the supervision and guidance of Associate Professor Sanjib Kumar Panda (Area Director for Power & Energy Systems), in the Department of ECE. Jaydeep is also Chair of the Joint IEEE IAS/PELS student branch chapter. For Jaydeep, this best paper award is very encouraging and inspiring, as it accredits a part of his PhD work. He is also very excited to continue rigorous research in the area of grid-connected power-electronic converters, and be a part of this exciting era of power-electronics reinforced grid modernization.
