Prof Li Haizhou appointed as Member of IEEE Signal Processing Society Fellow Evaluation Committee

Li Haizhou, Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore, has been appointed as Member of IEEE Signal Processing Society Fellow Evaluation Committee (2019). The committee is responsible for the Society’s evaluation of Fellow nominations being considered by the IEEE Fellow Committee. It provides an independent technical assessment on nominees and ranks the nominees by numerical scores. The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments. The appointment as a Member of the Fellow Evaluation Committee recognizes Professor Li’s technical leadership in the field of signal processing.

Professor Li was the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing (2015-2018). He has served as the President of International Speech Communication Association (2015-2017), the President of Asia Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (2015-2016), and the President of Asian Federation of Natural Language Processing (2017-2018). Professor Li was the recipient of National Infocomm Award 2002, President’s Technology Award 2013, and MTI Innovation Activist Gold Award 2015 in Singapore. He was named one of the two Nokia Visiting Professors in 2009 by Nokia Foundation.
