As part of the Ministry of Education’s Science Mentorship Programme (SMP) 2024, Assoc Prof. Panda Sanjib Kumar and one of his researcher, Ms. Kolantla Dharani, were awarded the prestigious “Outstanding Mentorship Award” for their guidance in hydrogen production and utilization modeling with economic analysis. The project was submitted alongside two groups of secondary students, each focusing on a distinct aspect—hydrogen production and hydrogen utilization, both integrated with economic analysis.
Through their mentorship, Assoc Prof. Panda and his researcher introduced the students to key concepts in the emerging field of hydrogen energy and facilitated hands-on simulations. Their efforts culminated in both student groups achieving recognition in the merit category at the 29th Youth Science Conference.
The Ministry of Education commended the mentorship team’s dedication to nurturing young scientific minds and fostering innovation in the realm of sustainable energy solutions. The students expressed gratitude for the valuable insights gained, highlighting how the experience not only deepened their understanding but also sparked their interest in further pursuing science and engineering.
This recognition marks a significant milestone for Assoc Prof. Panda and Ms. Kolantla Dharani, underscoring the vital role of mentorship in cultivating the next generation of scientists and innovators in Singapore.
