Congratulations to Ph.D. student Mr Zhang Fengzhuo, supervised by Associate Professor Tan Yan Fu, Vincent, from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, who has been awarded a Singapore Data Science Consortium (SDSC) PhD Dissertation Research Fellowship 2022. The SDSC Dissertation Research Fellowship is a yearly award which aims to promote and recognise innovative and impactful data science thesis work of PhD students. This programme provides up to ten (10) cash awards of S$10,000 for doctoral students at Singapore universities. The cash awards can be used to support research initiatives that are related to data science and involve the use of real-world data sets.
His research focuses on statistical machine learning which is an umbrella term for the algorithms that explore and leverage the randomness in the observation to estimate the target quantities. Specifically, Mr Zhang Fengzhuo emphasizes on designing efficient algorithms for graphical models and multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) with performance guarantees.
