ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Assistant Dean (Research and Technology) College of Design and Engineering

Associate Professor Khoo Eng Tat holds joint appointments at the Engineering Design and Innovation Centre and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He also serves as Assistant Dean (Research and Technology) at the College of Design and Engineering.

He is the founding Principal Investigator of the Immersive Reality Lab, where his research advances AI, immersive intelligence, and the design and deployment of augmented, virtual, and mixed reality systems for education, healthcare, and aviation. Working closely with industry partners, he leads multidisciplinary teams to translate cutting-edge technologies into scalable, real-world solutions.

Prior to academia, he served as R&D Director at a pioneering VR/AR company. He later co-founded a VR startup and served as Head of Engineering at a venture capital firm.
