A/Prof A P Loh received her Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, First Class Honours) degree from the University of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur in 1983, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Control from Oxford University, in 1986. Her postgraduate work was made possible by a scholarship from the Kuok Foundation. From 1986-1989, she was with the University of Auckland, New Zealand, first with a postdoctoral fellowship followed by a lectureship. She has been a lecturer at NUS since 1989. From 1994 to 1997, she spent 3 years at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, as a visiting lecturer. Her research interests are mainly in the areas of relay feedback systems, nonlinear control, auto-tuning and fault detection.
