Gurusamy Mohan (M’00-SM’07) received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2000. He joined the National University of Singapore in June 2000, where he is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). He is currently serving as the Associate Head of Graduate Programmes at the ECE Department and also as the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programmes at the NUS College of Design and Engineering.
He has served as the editor for IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing and is serving on the editorial board for Elsevier Computer Networks journal and Springer Photonic Network Communications journal. He served as a guest editor for IEEE Communication magazine (OCS) and Computer Networks journal. He served as TPC Co-Chair for several conferences including IEEE GLOBECOM 2019 (ONS) and IEEE ICC 2008 (ONS). He was the organizer and lead chair for Guaranteed Optical Service Provisioning (GOSP) workshops co-located with Broadnets conference 2005, 2006, and 2008. His research experience and interests are in the areas of Internet of Things, 5G, Metaverse, Cloud, Software Defined Networks, Network Softwarization, Data Center networks, and Optical Networks. He has about 250 publications to his credit including two books and three book chapters in the area of optical networks. He has been a member of the IEEE since 2000 and senior member since 2007.
