Sheral Crescent Tissera is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). Concurrently, he is also the Deputy Director of Satellite Technology and Research Centre (STAR). Before his present employment, he was a Research Engineer at Satellite Research Centre (SaRC), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore from Jul 2013 to Jan 2017.
He received a B.Eng. degree in Aerospace Engineering and a M.Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NTU in 2013 and 2017, respectively. In 2023, he earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NUS, focusing on satellite attitude determination and control.
He has over a decade of experience in building eight satellites out of which four satellites: VELOX-I, VELOX-II, VELOX-C1, and LUMELITE-4 have been successfully launched into space. His research interests include spacecraft attitude determination and control, formation flying satellites, space robotics and mechanisms.
