Dr. XU Yuecong joined the ECE Department as a Lecturer in January 2024. He received his B.Eng. and Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2017 and 2021, respectively. He was the receiver of the Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship during his Ph. D. studies. Prior to joining the ECE Department, he was a Research Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore, from July 2021 to January 2024.
His current courses are primarily related to machine/deep learning and artificial intelligence. His research interests focus on video and time-series data analysis based on deep learning and transfer learning, with applications in human-centric tasks and AIOT. He is the co-organizer of the UG2+ Challenge held in conjunction with CVPR 2021, 2022, and 2024. He is a member of the IEEE and committee member of the IEEE Sensors Council Chapter (Singapore). He is also the Young Associate Editor of the Journal of Automation and Intelligence.
