Recent work by the Green IC research group at ECE-NUS led by Prof. Alioto has been selected as quarterly publication highlight in the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, the flagship journal of the Solid-State Circuits Society.
The innovation enables for the first time a complete system on chip from sensing to communications in a completely battery-less fashion, in a millimeter-scale form factor, and peak power lower than the microWatt mark for the first time. The silicon demonstration by the NUS group paves the way to a new generation of systems that are green, extremely miniaturized and able to perform complex sensing modalities such as indoor localization without any energy storage.
