Dr Kailong Wang is an Assistant Professor (Research Track) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Prior to joining NUS ECE, he was an Associate Professor in the School of Cyber Science and Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He received his PhD in Computer Science from NUS and his B.Eng. with First Class Honours from EEE Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He subsequently worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the NUS School of Computing before joining Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
His research focuses on trustworthy artificial intelligence and the impact of AI on users and society. On trustworthy AI, he develops techniques to improve the safety, security, and reliability of large language models (LLMs) and AI agents, with research spanning LLM reasoning, hallucinations, jailbreak vulnerabilities, and agentic AI security and privacy. In parallel, he studies how AI interacts with human behaviour and decision-making, including how human biases can be amplified through interactions with AI and how AI can instead be used to identify and mitigate such biases.
