Launch of Graduate Coursework Programme, Master of Science (Semiconductor Technology & Operations)

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new coursework programme, Masters of Science (Semiconductor Technology & Operations).

The first intake will be for August 2024, and application will begin from 01 February 2024.

The MSc (STO) programme aims to provide a holistic and foundational knowledge to graduates who are interested in the field of semiconductor technology and operations, with the following education outcomes in mind:

  • Equip graduates with the fundamentals and the latest semiconductor technologies with respect to materials, devices, manufacturing, packaging and testing.
  • Understand semiconductor technology infrastructure investments and supply chain management.
  • Review key cost and benefit decision making at the strategic, tactical and operational levels relevant to semiconductor chip design and manufacturing.
  • Comprehend the complete design, technology development, and manufacturing process and technological innovation cycles.
  • Understand the past and current business models of technology development process.

In brief, the programme requires candidates to complete 10 modules (40 Units) including a selection of core courses and elective courses. The core courses provide the learning outcomes on fundamentals of technology and operations in the context of semiconductor-related industry. The Electives provide specific training in HI applications, advanced materials and data analysis for microelectronics, IP management and innovation strategy, and operations analysis and management. The optional project and internship provide hands-on experience via either working on a cutting edge project or working in a Singapore-based organisation, respectively. A report as well as a presentation are required at the end of the courses.
