ECE Undergraduate Student Council Induction Ceremony 2026

The NUS Electrical and Computer Engineering Undergraduate Student Council (ECE USC) formally welcomed its newest members at its AY26/27 Induction Ceremony, held at the Engineering Auditorium.

The ceremony brought together incoming council members, faculty advisors and members of the outgoing leadership team to mark the transition of student leadership and the beginning of a new term for the council. The occasion also celebrated the continued commitment of ECE students to serving and representing the undergraduate community.

The ceremony commenced with the introduction of the incoming Executive Committee, led by Vice President Shreya Chandran, followed by an opening address from the faculty. Staff Advisors Ms Nicole Phua, Ms Ni Qingqing and Professor Abdullah Al Mamun were present to show their support for the incoming council and reaffirm the Department’s commitment to guiding and supporting its student leaders.

President Johnathon Su and outgoing President Abirami Baskaran also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the responsibilities, opportunities and experiences that come with serving the ECE undergraduate community. Their speeches provided words of encouragement to the incoming members as they prepared to take on their new roles within the council.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the formal induction of the new members. Each incoming member was introduced to the audience before taking the USC Oath, marking their official entry into the council and their commitment to serving the ECE student community. The ceremony also recognised the contributions of continuing council members, who received appreciation gifts in recognition of their commitment and continued service to the USC.

The event concluded with group photographs of the newly inducted members, Executive Committee, faculty advisors and the wider ECE USC community, commemorating the start of a new chapter for the council.

As the AY26/27 ECE USC begins its term, the newly inducted members will continue to build on the work of previous cohorts in fostering a vibrant, supportive and connected ECE student community.
